Purpose of Agitation
Dr. Shirley Moore
Agitation is a state of anxiety or nervous excitement. It is a close relative of fear, used by the devil for death, loss, and destruction. It is purposely sent to steal our joy, disturb our peace, and detract us from walking by faith. We will not likely produce the Fruit of the Spirit when agitation shows up. We need our emotions in check and under the leading of the Spirit to win souls and resist demons. This is why we need to rejoice always, and again, He says rejoice. He says it again because that is not our first reaction while in training. We train to grow stronger and consist in defeating the enemy swiftly every time he shows up. Remember we are tried by fire. The test will come. Mood alteration is a weapon against our faith. We cannot move an angry mountain with an angry spirit, nor can we defeat fear without solid faith. We can do all things through the Messiah who strengthens us. Who is He to be so strong? He is the Word of the Father in Spirit and Truth. Swing the Sword of the Spirit against the adversary of our souls. Know the Truth and be set free. In the Word, we must live, move, and have our being. Speak those things which are not as though they were so. Speak life. People being agitated have hurt themselves and, or others. Many lives have been altered or lost. The Sword of the Spirit is given to us to hearers and doers holding our peace and winning against every purpose of agitation.
Proverbs 4:7 “The beginning of wisdom is: Get wisdom! And with all of your getting, get understanding.
8 “Exalt her, and let her uplift you; She brings you esteem when you embrace her.
9 “She gives your head a fair wreath, She shields you with an adorning crown.”
10 Hear, my son, and accept my words, And let the years of your life be many
Isaiah 1:16 “Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Stop doing evil!
17 “Learn to do good! Seek right-ruling, reprove the oppressor, defend the fatherless, plead for the widow.
18 “Come now, and let us reason together,” says יהוה. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
19 “If you submit and obey, you shall eat the good of the land;
20 but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword,” for the mouth of יהוה has spoken.
21 How the steadfast city has become a whore! I have filled it with right-ruling; righteousness lodged in it, but now murderers.
22 Your silver has become dross, your wine is mixed with water.
23 Your rulers are stubborn, and companions of thieves. Everyone loves bribes, and runs after rewards. They do not defend the fatherless, nor does the cause of the widow reach them.
24 Therefore the Master declares, יהוה of hosts, the Elohim of Yisra’ĕl, “Ah, I shall be eased of My adversaries, and I shall be avenged of My enemies.
Romans 12:6 Now having different gifts, according to the favour which was given to us, let us use them accordingly: if prophecy, according to the proportion of belief;
7 if serving, in the serving; or he who is teaching, in the teaching;
8 or he who encourages, in the encouragement; or he who is sharing, in sincerity; he who is leading, in diligence; he who shows compassion, joyously.
9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Shrink from what is wicked, cling to what is good.
10 In brotherly love, tenderly loving towards one another, in appreciation, giving preference to each other;
11 not idle in duty, ardent in spirit, serving the Master;
12 rejoicing in the expectancy, enduring under pressure, continuing steadfastly in prayer;
13 imparting to the needs of the set-apart ones, pursuing kindness towards strangers.
14 Bless those who persecute you – bless and do not curse.
15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.
16 Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not be proud in mind, but go along with the lowly. Do not be wise in your own estimation.
17 Repay no one evil for evil. Respect what is right in the sight of all men.
18 If possible, on your part, be at peace with all men.
19 Beloved, do not revenge yourselves, but give place to the wrath, for it has been written, “Vengeance is Mine, I shall repay,” says יהוה.
20 “Instead, if your enemy hungers, feed him; if he thirsts, give him a drink, for in so doing you shall heap coals of fire on his head.”a
21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
1 Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves, then, under the mighty hand of Elohim, so that He exalts you in due time,
7 casting all your worry upon Him, for He is concerned about you.
8 Be sober, watch, because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
9 Resist him, firm in the belief, knowing that the same hardships are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.
10 And the Elohim of all favour, who called you to His everlasting esteem by Messiah יהושע, after you have suffered a while, Himself perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.
11 To Him be the esteem and the might forever and ever. Amĕn.
